weigh in
I had another great week!
I'm down another 3 pounds this week!!!
-6.5 so far
My new, updated goal is 229 by April 14... my birthday!
And just to think ahead, let's say 219 by June 1
And 214 by the babies' birthday, July 5
I'm still holding out hope for ONEderland by Christmas. =)

changing it up
Weight Watchers has been my "go to" means of weight loss for as long as I can remember, since I decided to try things the healthy way. Prior to WW, you name it, I did it... including some very unhealthy and dangerous things. I've used countless diet pills, including using crazy amounts of them. I clearly remember one night when I laid in bed and my heart pounded and raced like nothing I've ever felt before or since. For the first time ever in my life, I truly thought I might die that night. I've jammed fingers down my throat to bring up what I had eaten. I tried Jenny Craig for a while thinking that if I didn't have to really think about my meals and go shopping that I'd be successful. Well, I hated their food, and it was pricey. I have honestly joined WW and sat at those meetings so many times that I could probably run the meetings as well as any of the leaders. I know what to do, it's just a matter of actually doing it.
All of that being said, I'm going to step out of my comfort zone just a bit and try simply calorie counting with a fun app on my phone. And Jamie and I are still going to Shred at least 3 or 4 times a week. I'm kind of excited to change things up a bit, but the true test will be in another week when I hop on the scale.

weigh in
I lost...
3.5 pounds!!!
I was really hoping to get that extra half of a pound to be in the 230s, but I can't stress over it. I'll be there next week.

the shred
Day 1 of the shred kicked my ass last night. I am so out of shape. I can't even do a single modified push up all the way down and back up. My legs ache and feel like jell-o. My knees truly hurt. The way i see it, though, is even if I can't keep up, doing something is better than doing nothing.
I drank 120 ounces of water after reading somewhere that you should try to drink half of your weight in ounces of water each day to help your weight loss efforts (so if you weigh 100 pounds, you should drink 50 ounces). I had to burn up some calories just walking to and from the bathroom all day! There was an 'incident' involving me and some Easter candy, so I'll work harder today to make better food choices.

weigh-in: week 5
Hi, my name is Amanda, and I kinda suck at life.
I lost a pound. The same dang pound I gained last week. So the last two weeks are a wash.
I'm down a total of 9 pounds (once again). I'm already struggling a bit after this weekend. We ate out a few times including a baptism, and I chowed down on some Valentine candy. I love eating out; it tastes so good and I enjoy not having to cook or clean up. It's just hard to jump back on the WW train. And, to boot, I'm due to get a visit from AF later this week.
I thought about scrapping the weekly updates because there's not much to report. Just another let down, and I have to one to blame but myself. But then I thought, keep at it... if I wasn't making some effort, even as half-hearted as it may be sometimes, it's better than doing nothing. If I didn't try at all for these last five weeks, I'd be 9 pounds heavier, if not more! I didn't reach my first goal, so I need to revise.
By March 15, I'd like to be down 11.5 more pounds, for a grand total of -20. I realize it's kind of steep, but I have a lot to lose. It's not like I'm only twenty pounds overweight. I have way more than that to go.
I'm going to just go ahead and put it my numbers out there. I'm not all into taking measurements with a tape measure, just the scale, but here goes:
I'm 5'9"
On January 5, I weighed 243.5
On February 11, I weighed 234.5
**by March 15, I'd LIKE to weigh 223
**by April 14 (my bday), I'd LIKE to weigh 218
**by June 1, I'd LIKE to weigh 209
**by July 5 (Gabriella and Benjamin's bday), I'd LIKE to be under 199
**If and when I break through into ONEderland (in the 100's, thankyouverymuchBiggestLoser), I'll set some new goals. I'd be thrilled if I can get into and stay in the 190s by the end of the year. If I reach this goal by my self-imposed deadline, I'll certainly work up some more milestones for the remaining 5 months of the year. If life gets in the way and it takes me a bit longer, then so be it. But 190s by the end of 2012 is my goal. Whether than happens in July and I maintain, or if I struggle and it takes me until December to get there, I'm going to make it happen. That would be about a 50 pound weight loss. But seriously, baby steps. Nine down, forty-one to go.
There it is. It isn't pretty, but it's where I am. Hopefully not for much longer though if I can get my act together. So buck up little camper and just take it one meal at a time.

weigh-in: week 4
Despite all of my efforts, I gained one frickin' pound this week. I made a few mistakes, but not enough for this harsh of a consequence. Seriously. I really am kind of scratching my head as to how this happened. So now my total dropped back to 8 pounds, and I need 6 to reach my goal of 14 by Valentine's Day. Ha!
Ok, so this week I will a.) more accurately track what I eat, b.) eat more fresh fruit, and c.) drink at least 2 more servings of water each day. I'll save eating more veggies and exercising for when I get really desperate. I can't change what's been done this week. I'll just learn from it and make some changes. (I was super bummed earlier; I can't lie.)

weigh-in: week 3
I just hopped off of the scale... I lost 4 more pounds this week!
My total is -9 pounds since January 9th.
I have 5 more pounds to go by Valentine's Day to reach my first goal of -14 pounds.
I'm thinking that next week I'll take a new picture, once I hit double digits. =)

weigh-in: week 2
I move my weigh in up to today since I'm meeting a dear friend/fellow (former) IF-er/ momma of twins/Jamie's cousin's wife...Amber...for lunch. The week didn't go as perfectly as I had envisioned, but sometimes that's just life.
I lost 2 pounds.
Grand total of 5 pounds so far.
9 to go by Valentine's Day. I got this.
Good Lord, I need to post more frequently after my weigh in pictures to get those further down the page. Yikes! It's no where near as much fun taking those shots now that there are no babies in that belly. I guess it's just more motivation. ::hanging my head::

weigh-in: week 1
All in all I'd have to say that my first week making more conscious choices with food and pretty closely tracking my weight Watcher points was a success. I had a few slip ups, one involving an entire bag of peanut M&Ms. I kid you not... an entire bag. Jamie and I got take out on Saturday night. And I started on Wednesday, so weighing in on Monday didn't even give me a full first week. But I lost!
I lost 3 pounds!!!
Since I'm a visual person I see one pound of weight as butter (since butter is fat, brilliant, right?). Four sticks of butter make up a pound, so in my mind I lost 12 sticks of butter. Not too shabby, all things considered.
And, as promised, my pictures:

the time has come
Bleh. Ugh. This is not a topic or post that I'm really thrilled to sit down and write about, but it's time. It's been time and I've been putting it off. So, here goes... I need to lose weight. Again. For about the millionth time in my life.
After the babies were born, by the time I came home from the hospital (5 days later) I was AT my pre pregnancy weight. Within a week or two I was down to my pre ttc weight. WTF has happened? I'm almost, not quite, back up to my pregnancy weight. Yup, that's right, I weigh almost what I did when I was 30 something weeks pregnant with twins. Shoot me now. I'm not quite comfortable talking numbers on here at this point. Maybe once I lose a bunch then I can reflect back on where I started from, but not today.
I'm going to do the best that I can, one day at a time. I'm going to follow the Weight Watchers points plan as much as I can, but I'm doing it on my own. I have joined WW so many times, and I know exactly what I need to do to lose the weight. It's just a matter of actually doing it. There will be meals that I throw my hands up in the air at. Heck, if I'm being honest, there will probably be entire days like that. And that will be ok.
Just like when I was pregnant ::sigh:: and I took tummy pictures so I could watch myself grow, it's time to watch myself shrink now. I'm thinking maybe every other week, or even once a month as time goes on. I have set a few goal weights at different milestones. My first goal is -14 pounds by Valentine's Day. Baby steps. I'll share the rest after each one is acheived. So, there it is. In writing for the world to see. I hesitated even 'going there' on this little blog, but I decided that it's just one more way to hold myself accountable. Wish me luck!
